The Scandinavian War Bride is now available in English. I still have to get used to writing that sentence.

Launch day is March 3rd, and you can now preorder the e-book, paperback, and hardcover on Amazon and Barnes & Noble. For those of you in Denmark, the English edition is also available via saxo.dk.

We are currently working behind the scenes to prepare the audiobook, which is scheduled for release in May. I am especially excited about the voice we’ve chosen, and I cannot wait to share more about that process with you soon.

Isn’t she beautiful?

I am deeply grateful to the people who helped bring this dream to life—from the careful work on the cover and logo to that surreal moment when your book appears online after you search your own name.

Building awareness in a sea of books takes time and persistence, and we are very much in that building phase. So far, the response from readers who have received the Advanced Reader Copy has been encouraging. I can’t say too much just yet, but the manuscript is now in the hands of professional reviewers, and I hope to share more news in the coming months.

While focusing on the English-language launch, I am also deep into my next project. This next project makes me feel like a warrior—writing on behalf of young women whose stories deserve space, language, and witness. Still, I’ll admit that by the end of a writing day, I am often completely drained. Reaching back into old trauma is hard. I am grateful to have survived difficult things, and I feel a responsibility to shed light on environments most people are fortunate enough never to encounter.

In that same spirit of care and grounding, I’ve discovered a new hobby: diamond painting. It’s soothing, meditative, and surprisingly effective at quieting anxiety. And, true to form, I am all in. Considering the writing I am immersed in right now, this particular piece felt fitting.

If you enjoy The Scandinavian War Bride, I would be so grateful if you shared the news of the preorder option with friends and family. If you’re part of a book club—I would be thrilled to join your club for a conversation about the remarkable women who came before us.

Thank you, always, for your support, your encouragement, and your presence here. I look forward to sharing more with you very soon.

Warmly,

Désirée
